Oedipus the Wronged
The gods of humanity
Never smiled down on me.
I have met misfortune
With naught but repulsion.
I am the most detested,
The lowest of the low.
Expected to repent my sins,
I rather like my life now.
Take your last look at my face.
Look in these eyes, so wretched.
I could not stop myself.
I am not to blame.
It is not my fault.
You are the one who should take the blame.
This was not ever my fault.
Yet things always seem to end the same.
Take it all away from my sight now,
I cannot stand it any longer.
I have been wronged by all of you.
I will not tolerate your disrespect.
Now I return, a savior,
To those who I deem worthy.
Oh! What an ironic shift,
You simply must agree.
For you who hath cast me out,
Shall forever be burdened by me.
Now you grovel, now you beg,
Your life retracts even faith.
Take your last look at my face.
Look in these eyes, so wretched.
I could not stop myself.
I am not to blame.
You will suffer.
I will not ever lend you hope.
Your fate has been predetermined.
You shall forever be condemned.
