Look.
Your head stays down as you walk by
Your voice stays hidden through the night
I know you’re burdened, I hear your sighs.
You think your hurt is seen by none,
Keeping your cool behind that front—
That pretty façade lets you run.
Sprinting away from what you see
Trying to maintain shreds of dignity.
But it doesn’t matter, I don’t mind
I see the world through your eyes
Visions engulf my head
Nothing is like your story,
Not in any book I’ve read.
The thoughts invade my brain
The weight tearing down
All lingering strains of bliss
Crushed into a frown.
