More Than A Friend
In shadows of the heart, a secret kept,
A love that in the depths of night has crept.
We started as friends, the bond so pure,
But now I find my feelings, I can't ignore.
It's wrong, I know, to yearn for more,
To let this love for you my heart implore.
I try to hide it, deep within my soul,
But it's impossible, this love has taken control.
I cherish your laughter, your smiles so bright,
In the daylight, you're my guiding light.
But when the stars appear, and silence falls,
I'm haunted by a love that silently calls.
I know it's not fair, to you, I confess,
To burden you with this secret's duress.
I wish I could be just a friend, no more,
But my heart won't obey, it's you I adore.
So forgive me, dear friend, for these emotions untamed,
For loving you more than friendship ever named.
Though it's wrong, I can't help but feel,
That our connection is something quite surreal.
