Chalet in St. Moritz

The flakes burst like soap upon entering
this lightning-lit chalet, a relic of shadows
cast over shell.
For my sister and I, burgundy couches
and a sleepless night watching the dust turn
in the moon rays.
The café only opens at nine, so we
fight our way through the crystal dark,
soundless and infinite.
