Basketball
When I’m running up the court,
I feel so at ease.
It’s one of things in life,
Where I’m always pleased.
When I have the basketball,
I feel in control.
I feel I have power,
I can feel it in my soul.
When I step on the court,
I know that I’m ready,
My heart is pounding,
But my feet are steady.
I know what my goal is,
And how to achieve it.
But more importantly,
I must believe it.
When I release the basketball,
From my shooting form,
My eyes are dark and cloudy,
Just like a storm,
Although my soul is so gentle,
Gentle and warm.
When I strap on my shoes,
And slip on my headband.
I know that the gym,
Is my territory, my land.
This game is different,
Different from the rest.
Most likely because,
It’s obviously the best.
