Preperation
From the moment you walk through the doors,
you can feel the weight on your shoulders,
the pressure from the higher authorities.
You’re psyched, but not psyched out,
you’ve been thinking, but not over thinking.
You’re ready to react to anything coming your way.
The opponent is on your mind,
as you try to remember their moves.
You line up at the doors,
and look across the ice,
to give them that nasty look.
But when you hit the ice,
all of that leaves your head,
and the only thing on your mind-
the puck.
