Weightless
He asked me why I wrote like that.
“Like how?” Was all I could mutter.
“Like you’re struggling to carry the weight
Of the world on your shoulders.”
I glanced away, too ashamed to meet his eyes.
“I’m fine. I’ve always been fine.”
There was nothing I couldn’t handle,
He knew I wasn’t weak.
Grabbing my hand, he rolled my fingers
In his palm.
Looking up,
His gaze met mine.
“Don’t forget,
You’re the strongest person I know,
But not strong enough to carry the
Weight of the world
Alone.”
