Do you believe in love in high school? Could it possibly exist?

No way, kids don't know what true love is... But, how many people do you know that dated in high school that are currently married and happy? I personally know about 4 couples very very well that are now happy after being high school sweethearts. Did they just like each other as teens and grow to love each other? When did the "like" change to "love?" In college? Age 21? 22?23? Or could they possibly have loved each other all along?

How can you put an age on love?

I, personally, believe in teenage love. I truly think it exists. Adults that did not fall in love till they were, in fact, adults, will most likely dismiss it. However, some - like my mother, for instance - do not dismiss teenage love. Do you?

I believe love is possible for teenagers. I, myself am in love. I have been with my boyfriend for more than seven months. I do believe though that timing is everything. Before I accepted that i wanted to be in a relationship my bf and i were best friends for more than a year. We grew closer and are very much aware of one another. I belive that if we did not grow as friends first that we would not have lasted this long.

the thing about the Romeo and Juliet idea is that they were both young. Juliet herself was around 12 or so, which can be perceived as either really creepy or sweet. although i do believe in high school love, the entire Romeo and Juliet idea slightly freaks me out. The only reason i can deal with it is because in their time people died earlier so they also matured earlier.

Here we are in chemistry class. There's no chemistry in this room, though.....it's an all-girls school and no one's brave enough to be lesbian.

I believe in high school love, but in select young men and women mature enough to know the stipulations of love and still even want it. Love has no set age, just set realities. I believe in it because I've found it, and have known I had it since freshman year. I want to spend my life with this boy, but I'm hesitant to say that because I don't want either of us to undergo crazy changes and turn around different people not in love because of the committment we stressed too early on. Yes, we're in love. No, we're not ready to move in. Yes, teenage love exists, and I am in the throes. Hurrah and all that <3

I agree Meredith, I think that adults underestimate us as teens. Considering most of them met in high school are currently in a married and loving relationship. As an answer to your question "How can you put an age on love?" You cant. It's just a matter of how mature you can be about a relationship and not take it for granted. Depending on how a couple gets along and actually cares for one another is the key to a healthy relationship. So yes, I do believe in high school love. Now, what makes me angry is when there are people that are saying how much they love someone and how they'll be together forever and then the next day they break up. It just doesn't work like that, you have to be serious about love. It's not a joke, take it from Romeo and Juliet. They didn't care that their families were in a feud, they just wanted to be together, they were in love. You can't judge love, it's only about the two people that make it be, and nobody else.

I KNOW It is real, IF it isnt, then why would I be wasting two plus years with my amazing girlfriend. Sure we had a falling out, but we picked up the pieces and grew to what we are now. I met her freshmen year and we are about to be juniors. I love her to death, my parents are saying how they dont want me to be commited too fast but, I feel like I truly found my special someone. I love her so much, So I know for a fact teen love is real..

I think high school love is for sure possible people fall in love at a young age and can stay that way. Sometimes it's the strongest love. I thought I fell in love, but it was wrong and then I fell in love again. It totally exsists

Life is fragile so please don't throw anything at it.

i thnk that they forget what young love is. they tell us that we are to young to be falling in love. i belive that we can fall in love and we may one day get married but it does not have to be that person. that is the thing about love, you have to take risk and we have to work hard to find that one true love. so yes i do think that young love is real

I think most adults have forgotten what they felt as a teen. The crazy feeling you get in your stomach and the heart beating fast when he/she is around. I think that teen love is true love in some cases.

I think at some point the high school love turns into a deeper attraction. As maturity level increases more feelings change either for good or bad. I really agree with what you say about adults not knowing teen love.

i think everyone thinks their in love at one point. It's just going to have too take a bad break for someone too realize that, that wasnt really "love". I think when a person goes through bad break ups or any other problem then thats when they no what good from wrong in a relationship. Thats when you'll know when your in a relationship that is actually real.=)

I think teenagers overuse the word love. I have a ex-boyfriend that is now on his 2nd engagement in the last 6 months and he isn't even 20. I have also had another friend of mine be engaged after dating the guy for less then a month. After they broke up she had a new boyfriend within the week. I think that it is possible but rare unlike teenagers now days try to make it.
