Daddy's Womb MAG

April 23, 2008
By Anonymous

i asked my father if i could swim,
and he said that i would drown.
The Sea would imprison me – he said
if my feet had left the ground.

So i walked out to the water,
and cried out – how ’bout now!
He said, a little bit further, Son,
and then you’ll leave the ground.

i stepped on sand then stone,
from hollow ground to sturdy.
The sky was at my level as I
gazed at the birdie.

The Sea brought me a new idea,
the urge to flee to the high.

i asked my Father if i could fly,
and he said, sure, Son – go try.

i jumped as high as i could.
Still, i landed on the ground.
i saw my Father pull on a chain,
then i knew that i was bound.

that was beautiful. i can completly relate to it. i feel as though my father wont let me be free and that im bound to the lifestyle he wants for me. and everytime i try to do something he's there to make it so i feel as though its impossible. this was very well written and i hope that chain is soon broken.

Never have I seen such wonderful depiction of being completely bound, unfree.

Your expression on lack of freedom is beautifully put.

"I can do all things through Christ who stregthens me." - Phillipians 4:13

There is an ancient Roman account of a father's love for his son. A Roman Emperor, whose name I don't know, held his son in his arms and declared that he would be as glorious as his father. Then silently said to himself: "No, he shall be greater than his father."

All the stars in the sky can make the world beautiful for a split second, beauty only remains in the purest forms.

Let me just say this poem was estoudning! it came from the heart. you can tell just by reading it that there is an underlying connection and emotion which overtook you when you wrote this. let me just say , this is how a writer should write.

Don't guess. Know.

This poem is a classic and I love it...it's original and yet hints at inspiration from other author's works. Read some of mine?
